When it comes to eating berries, did you know a good rule of thumb is, “the redder, the better?”

Red grapes, cranberries, cherries, pomegranates, acai berries, raspberries, even blueberries — red fruits are loaded with antioxidants that raise good HDL cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and lower your risk of cancers. 

WebMD says the antioxidants found in red berries can even help reduce anxiety and depression. And Science Daily reports that:

Strong scientific evidence exists that eating blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and other berry fruits has beneficial effects on the brain and may help prevent age-related memory loss and other changes, scientists report.
